Ministry Openings

MINISTRY OVERVIEW:

We take care of approximately 75 children.  They are in dormitory style housing, Boys’ dorm separate from girls’ dorm.  We also have Hope Christian School located here on our property that educates children from K-4 through 12th grade.

Within each dorm we have individual family apartment units where the house parents and their families reside.  Our children range in age from 3 to 18.  These are all good children who really just need a place to go.  We are not a lockdown facility nor do we deal with juvenile delinquents.  The average age of our children is between 8 and 10 years old.

Our other staff lives in homes and cottages located on our 45 acre campus.  Each home is a little different so we match up housing based on family or individual needs

OUR NEEDS:

We are seeking people to serve in our ministry in both immediate and future openings as house parents, teachers, and maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS & SCHEDULES:

House Parents

Each couple would have two days off per week.  For staff with less than one year, they would get five days off in May/June and an additional five days off around Christmas.  After one year you would receive an additional two-week vacation, totaling nearly four weeks per year, not including your regular days off.  We have year around school which allows the house parents time in the morning or afternoon to get caught up on things they need to get done.

Teachers

Teachers work Monday through Friday beginning with staff devotions at 7:45 am and the school day runs until 5:00 pm.  We offer individualized tutoring on Tuesday evening that the staff oversees on a rotating basis.  There are also other times you may be asked to attend special events with the children.  For staff with less than one year, they would get five days off in May/June and an additional five days off around Christmas.  After one year you would receive an additional two-week vacation, totaling nearly four weeks per year, not including your regular days off.

Maintenance

These positions work basically Monday through Friday and these staff members also attend staff devotions at 7:45 am and the day typically runs until 5:00 pm.  There are also other times you may be asked to attend special events with the children.  For staff with less than one year, they would get five days off in May/June and an additional five days off around Christmas.  After one year you would receive an additional two-week vacation, totaling nearly four weeks per year, not including your regular days off.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Our faculty and staff work for very modest salaries that are based on experience.  We provide housing, utilities, full coverage medical insurance as well as dental and eye coverage.  We also offer many other benefits such as a company matching retirement program, much of a persons clothing needs from our Thrift Store Ministry, as well as meals.  Unlike other homes we also have our own full-time cook, maintenance staff, and grounds keeper.

Those who serve at HOPE do so because they feel they have been called to the ministry.  No one, including the director has a large income.  We all work long hours, live modestly, and seek to minister to others rather than being ministered unto.

I trust this information has given you a good feel for our ministry.  If you sense the Lords call to dedicate yourself to our children please email or fax your resume to (813) 968-7686 or call (813) 961-1214.
