Ministry Openings
Hope Children’s Home cares for approx 75 children at any given time.  Our ministry is an Independent, Fundamental, Baptist, KJV only Ministry.  We are conservative in our music and dress but in no way “legalistic.”  We look for staff that are like minded as our ministry.  With over 40 staff members, we have a friendly, caring, “Hope Family” that help and encourage each other in our service to the Lord.

The following positions are currently available.  Each position would include housing, all paid utilities, fully paid medical and dental plans, retirement plan, consistent days off, and a modest salary.  Too many other benefits to list.  If interested or if questions, please e-mail or call.

PAID STAFF POSITIONS:

Maintenance:  This individual will perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled manual work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of buildings and grounds; and performs related duties as required.  Background in HVAC is preferred.  This is a totally “hands on” position.

House Parents:  This couple should be a Godly Christian example of what a proper family should be.  The biblical role of the father/mother and husband/wife must be of the greatest example to properly train the children in our care.  A total of 8 House Parents would be responsible to teach and oversee chores, proper hygiene practices, and general training of the children.  It is important that a warm family environment is established yet having consistency and structure.

Hope Stables Manager/Riding Instructor:  This position requires daily care and maintenance of horses, both Hope Stables’ lesson horses and boarded horses as well as the facilities.  Responsibilities also include creation and maintenance of an educational horseback riding program for the children at Hope Children’s Home as well as the general public. Included but not limited to: riding lessons, birthday parties, and day camps during school holidays. The goal of this individual should always be to utilize the experiences and time spent with and around the horses to further each individual’s understanding and relationship with God.

Teacher:  We are looking to fill one of the two positions listed below:

Upper-level math and science Teacher:  Math and Science is very difficult for most of our students.  While they are taught by the master teachers of Pensacola Christian Academy (via DVD), there is a great need for additional assistance from our on-site teacher.  Your responsibilities would be to facilitate the classroom (grade homework, give and grades quizzes and tests, provide help where needed so the students understand and can apply the principles needed for success).

Elementary Education Teacher:  The educational fundamentals taught in the Elementary Grades can not be overemphasized.  It is critical to the future success of our students.  We prefer that our Elementary Students learn math, grammar and spelling through a traditional method of teaching while the other subjects are taught via DVD.  Your responsibilities would be to teach math, grammar and spelling to 3rd-4th grade students and facilitate DVD instruction of other subjects (grade homework, give and grades quizzes and tests, provide help where needed so the students understand and can apply the principles needed for success).

NOTE:  These are not traditional Christian School positions; these are full-time ministry positions.  As part of the school staff, you may be asked to help in the dorms or offices from time to time.  However, our normal work schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:45am-5:00pm (school ends at 4:15pm with help class to follow till 5:00pm.  Teacher prep time is in the morning till 9:10am).  On Wednesday, we are released at 4:00pm to ensure we all have time to get home, eat, and get ready for church.

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS NEEDED:

IT Volunteer.  We are currently in need of an Information Technology professional who can assist and provide guidance with network administration (local area network and wireless network).  If you have the expertise and time to assist us, please contact Matt Higgins at 813-961-1214.

Things to know about Hope before you apply:

  • We are a Christian-based ministry and are Baptist in our Doctrine.  Each staff member at Hope views themselves as missionaries.  All children and staff attend Southside Baptist Church under Pastor Kerry Nance.
  • If you are married, we hire BOTH you and your spouse to serve in our ministry.
  • All of our staff are required to live and serve on property here at Hope as their permanent residence.
  • Children of staff members at Hope are required to attend Hope Christian School located on our property.
  • We provide medical and dental care at no cost to the staff member.
  • The ministry starts and contributes to a 401K retirement plan for each staff member (no contribution required from staff member).
  • Staff members receive a salary and do not have to go on Deputation to raise support.  We can’t afford for our staff to be gone for months at a time raising support.
  • All staff receive two weeks paid vacation, six medical days, and three personal days per year (beginning after six months in the ministry).
  • Many other benefits from living on property as part of the ministry.

If you are interested in applying for any of these positions, please e-mail your resume and letter of intent to Matt Higgins.
