Over the past several years, the demographics of Hope Children's Home has changed dramatically.  Today, we care for more families of children and a younger core group of children.  Just a few short years ago, 60% of the children were teenagers.  Today, 60% are age 12 or below and we have children under the age 4 with our youngest being age 2.

This change presents a challenge for us in our traditional dormitory setting.  How do we provide the nurturing a young child needs when he/she is living with 30 or 40 other children?  Also, how do we promote sibling bonding when part of the family lives in the girls' dorm and the other half is in the boys' dorm?  We believe the solution is a series of cottages that would house up to 12 children with a set of House Parents.  In this setting, we could ensure families are under the same roof, bonding and growing closer together with their siblings.  We could also provide the nurturing a toddler would need.

Now we need the help of others.  We need building materials, laborers, financial assistance, equipment, etc. to make these cottages a reality.  If you think you may be able to help, please e-mail us or give us a call at 813-961-1214 and ask for Al Schaffer or Dr Mike Higgins.

We pray God will lead you in this endeavor.
